The Process
Once you place your order and a deposit has been received, we create a shaper file of your board. The file will include: shape outline, rocker, rail shape as well as the bottom concave you desire. Photo’s of the 3D design of your board with then be sent for you via email to review and approve.
Once approved, your design is converted to G-Code to cut your board on our CNC machine. After the top and bottom of the board have been cut, it goes into the shaping bay where we hand finish the blank so it’s then ready for glassing.
At this point, if we are making you a Foil board, the Foil Mount box and deck reinforcement is installed.
The glassing lay-up begins by using 6oz S-Glass (which it’s 30% stronger than E-Glass) plus any additional layers you ordered. Once glassed, a sanding coat is applied and sanded out. The fin boxes, gortex vent valve and leash plugs are then installed. A second layer of cloth is installed over the entire deck, and a tail patch over any fin or foil boxes for additional reinforcement on the bottom. A sanding coat is then applied for a second time to the top and bottom. The board is then completely sanded and ready for its hot coat. The hot coat is custom tinted for you. Once this is applied and dried, the board is sanded a final time and the fin boxes are routered and cleaned out. As a final step, the board is sprayed with a satin finish, UV protectant. The deck pad is then installed and you are ready to hit the water!
